Baihua Lake Scenic Area

It lies 22 kilometers (near 14 miles) northwest of Guiyang. It is a famous senic spot, renowned for its natural scenes of tranquil lakes and hills, which is much like that of Li River Scenery in Guilin, accquired the nickname "Little Guilin".

The views there are amazing. Water in the lake is clean and lukewarm, the verdurous hills standing besides the lake seems much like elegant, genteel girls. Large number of birds have been appealed there for the comfortable living condition. There are over 100 islands located in the lake, making the lake appear like the sky dotted with shining stars.

In this scenic area, there are over 50 scenic spots, 23 of which have already been opened to tourists. Some of the most notable attractions are:  Two Monkeys Guarding the Garden, Kwan-yin Cavity on the Maoli Hill, overlooking the Pin Ocean, Hongwu Temple on the Moon Hill, and Birds Island. The Birds Island is a place catching most tourists' eyes: no matter in spring or in winter, an assortment of birds are living on the island, forming a grand sight.

This area gives tourists coziness of rural life: There are dozens of families living there. When inhabitants berth their boats by the island, the whole scenery in the lake forms a picture full of peace and romance. Flowers bloom and birds fly through the sky here in spring, with widgeons floating and playing in the water. Virtually forming a paradise in the earth!

Transportation: the scenic area is adjacent to the city. In only one day, it's likely to go and return back. The best transportation way to get there is taking your own vehicle, or you can get there by the regular buses in the Guiyang Coach Station. You can also take the No.55 bus in Zilin An and get off when reach the stop named Zhuchang, and then transfer to a tricycle to reach the scenic area.
