  • Guiyang, stands in the southwest China, on the eastern side of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It has a favorable humidsubtropical climate with plenty of sunlight and abundant rainfall. Bearing no intense heat in summer or severe cold in winter. The air is fresh and moist, never has any sandstorm. The pleasant climate makes it a comfortable area to live.

    The verage annual temperature here is about 15C (59F). The hottest month lies in July with an average temperature of 24C (75F) while January is the coldest one, the average temperature can be as low as 4.6C (40F). Four seasons are distinctive here, while the winter is the longest one.

    The good weather means here can be visited at any time of the year. However, the best weather of Guiyang is in late August. If you are lucky enough to visit in March or April, you can experience a lot of traditional Miao festivals. From April 30 to May 7 there is the Baiyun National Kites Festival and from June to August is the Hongfeng Lake Tourism Festival, persisting almost two months. The best seasons for touring Huangguoshu Waterfall near Guiyang are summer and autumn when the scenery is the most fantanstic.

    The genial weather all the year round credits to its popularity among visitors. However, because of the unstable weather on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, it is advised to take rain wear whenever you go out. A folding umbrella is indispensable! Due to its special terrain, the preparations for anti-solar radiation cannot be forgotten. Mornings and evenings are always rather cool, thus a windproof coat is necessary.
