    Shanghai, is a municipality under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Government. It is washed by the East China Sea on the east and Hangzhou Bay on the south.

    Owing to its gifted geographic location, Shanghai has become a well--known sea and river port, boasting easy accesses to a vast hinterland. With a population reaching to 200million, Shanghai is the largest city of China, and also an international metropolis serving as the most influential economic, financial, international trade, cultural, science and technology center in East China.

    In addition to its modernization, Shanghai's multicultural flair endows Shanghai with a unique glamour. Foreign architecture standing along the Bund area is living museum of the colonial history of the 1800s. These buildings are well coordinated in color and style, thus gaining the name of “Gallery of World Architecture”. When night falls and the lights are on, all the buildings are flared with colorful lights, glistening and catchy to the eye.

    Since it has held the bid for World Expo 2010 successfully, Shanghai has shown its overall capacity and its hospitability. The best time to travel Shanghai is autumn and spring when the weather is pleasant but winter and summer are also good season to travel.
