  • Xian is reagrded as an important communications hub for the western and the eastern parts of China, which is located in the geographical center of China. At present, the city has became a modern transportation network incorporating road, rail, and air travel.

     

    • 1. By Air

     

    Xianyang Airport, located in northwestern suburbs of Xian, is about one hour's drive. As it is the fourth largest airport in China, there are several daily flights linking Xian to the major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Urumqi and Lhasa. There are also international flights to Hong Kong, Macao and Japan. Visitors can take a taxi to the airport at about CNY80.

      

    • 2. By Train

     


    Xian serves as a vital rail network hub for the Northwest and Southwest regions in China. There are daily trains to and from major cities around China. The train station is located in the northeast of the city, outside the Old City Wall. The foreigner’s ticket office is on the south side of the station on the second floor, and is open daily from 8:30 to 11:30am and from 2:30 to 5:30pm.  

     

    • 3. By Bus or Coach

     


    There are three long-distance bus stations in Xian and buses run to destinations in Central China and others. Xian Bus Station is located just to the northwest of the Railway Station Square. There are daily buses to Yanan, Lanzhou, Hanzhong and many other cities. The other two bus stations are, Nanguan Bus Station and East City Bus Station. There are buses from East City Bus Station to Huashan Mountain.
